PHILHARMONIE HALL IN BERLIN
For those of you in Germany, there’s a wonderful concert in Berlin that I would attend if I were there: Anne-Sophie Mutter, playing the Dvorak Violin concerto, and later the Berlin Philharmonic plays my favorite Schumann Symphony #2.
Even though it is sold out, I’d go anyway, and see if someone may have an extra ticket for me…
Berliner Philharmoniker
Sir Simon Rattle Conductor
Anne-Sophie Mutter Violin
Program:
• Gabriel Fauré
Pelléas et Mélisande – Orchestra Suite op. 80
• Antonín Dvořák
Violin Concerto in A minor
• Robert Schumann
Symphony No. 2 in C Major
Here is the Beethoven Violin Concerto first movement, with a young Seiji Ozawa and Anne-Sophie Mutter, and the Boston symphony orchestra.
That’s one terrific interpretation; emotional, warm, and intense. I just love the playing of Ms. Mutter! Her playing is secure, confident, technically amazing, and just experience the pianissimo passages!
