Albrecht Mayer: Bonjour Paris
During these times, when we are fortunate to have access to extensive recordings of audio/video performances, it is a lot easier to become familiar with orchestral musicians of amazing capabilities. One such example is Albrecht Mayer, who is the principal Oboe player with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. How many times have I heard and seen this terrific musician play so expressively in a Mahler symphony, or some other masterpiece?
Now Mr. Mayer has given us a CD of his passion for the city of Paris, and he plays several French musical selections to celebrate the city that he loves:
