J. S. Bach: Concertos for Recorder
Something different: Music for Recorder
My guess is that this music comes out to make it possible to give someone an unusual Christmas gift. Not just any someone, of course. This must be for a music lover, and for a lover of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach.
Volumes have been written about the original instruments for which Bach wrote some of his compositions. There can be no argument about works for Organ, for the human voice, or major works such as one of the Masses. But many concerti were written in some cases by other composers, and later set and arranged for different instruments by Bach.
These are gems. Too bad we get to hear them rarely.
