I enjoy Daniel Barenboim as both a pianist and also as a fine conductor. While I am more familiar with Mr. Barenboim’s interpretation of the Mahler symphonies, I thought I’d explore this familiar work.
Bruckner’s famous “Romantic” Symphony No. 4 forms the start of a DVD series from Accentus Music and Unitel Classica, exploring Bruckner’s symphonic creations. I respond to this music’s wonderful orchestration and color. There is a Brahms-like quality of sound here that is pleasing and warm.
