Stravinsky:
- Rite of Spring and The Firebird
Igor Stravinsky was a Russian-born composer who forever changed the world of music. There was huge controversy when his new music was performed. Near riots broke out, as listeners were astounded, and occasionally disturbed by these new sounds. What was real, though, was that the composer gave the public some amazing and creative new ways to hear musical works.
On this recording we hear the following:
Stravinsky:
- The Firebird
- The Rite of Spring
Performed by the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse, conducted by Tugan Sokhiev
