Schubert:
- Complete works for violin and piano
Franz Schubert composed some lovely pieces for violin and piano. Every violinist has played these at some time or another. I love the Sonatinas, because they seem to convey such an Austrian melodic style.
On this CD, Alina Ibragimova shows us what a great job she does in performing these pieces.
The selections are:

Violinist Alina Ibragimova and Cedric Tiberghien, piano, give us a double album of Schubert’s complete music for violin and piano. Their technical excellence, and their intimate connection as performers result in magical performances.
Schubert Sonatinas are highly accomplished works by the composer that hint at other compositions yet to come.
Written in the last year of Schubert’s life, the Fantasy in C is truly a masterpiece, and one of the composer’s greatest achievement in this genre, combining poignancy with sheer joy in life itself.
