Mozart at the Salzburg Festival.
This DVD recording presents outstanding opera recordings from the Salzburg Festival of 1966, 1982 and 2003 featuring many outstanding singers.
Three of Mozarts Operas are featured. The are:
- “Die Zauberflöte” and
Let me share a few things about “Figaro”:
While this opera was premiered in Vienna in 1786, the opera was produced in Prague in December 1786, and the production was a tremendous success. Mozart became hugely popular in Prague, people were walking around whistling arias from this opera, and the production was hugely successful.
Mozart’s “Zauberflöte” was premiered in Vienna on 30 September 1791, and the composer died on December 5th of that year.
