Meditation Playlist.

Music can enhance your meditation experience. In order to do so, it has to be the “right” kind of music. For me, here are some examples that are wonderfully suitable:

First, I start with J. S. Bach: His “Sicilliene”, as transcribed for piano and played by Evgeny Kissin.

Next, please explore the third movement of Robert Schumann’s Symphony #3 with its amazing lyrical sounds.

That is followed by the Adagio for Strings by American composer Samuel Barber.

My fourth selection is the opening movement of Beethoven’s “moonlight” sonata.

And next, I have for you a transcription for piano of Franz Schubert‘s song “Staendchen”.

Gustav Mahler is represented here by his “Adagietto” from the Symphony #5. Sounds of a harp, strings and winds.

Finally, we return to Bach and hear his opening “Aria” from the Goldberg Variations, as performed by Simone Dinnerstein.

That is music that goes back 300 years, from the 1600’s , and continues all the way to the Samuel Barber, which was composed in 1936.

Enjoy the music as it supports your meditation experience. “Hank’s Meditation” at Spotify:
