New York String Orchestra Performs.
- At Carnegie Hall (Stern Auditorium)
Before the end of 2014, you still have a nice opportunity to enjoy two fine concerts at Carnegie Hall this week:
The annual concert of this ensemble of young string musicians, which includes outstanding wind, brass, and percussion players, too, under the longtime guidance of conductor/violinist Jaime Laredo, is an annual holiday event at Carnegie Hall.
There are two performances dates:
- Dec. 24 at 7:00 PM
- Dec. 28 at 2:00 PM
The Christmas Eve concert features an all – Mozart program, offering the following:
- “Impresario” Overture.
- Oboe Concerto (with the NY Philharmonic‘s principal Liang Wang).
- Symphony No. 39.
The second concert features the following:
- Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings
- Samuel Barber‘s Violin Concerto (with Augustin Hadelich as soloist)
- Beethoven’s “Pastoral” Symphony #6.
For tickets, call 212-247-7800.
