The Finnish conductor Sakari Oramo, an admired performer of the music of Sibelius, takes the Philharmonic’s podium to lead two of Sibelius’ works:
- The tone poem “The Oceanides” and the Violin Concerto (with violin soloist, Frank Peter Zimmermann);
- Brahms’ pastoral Second Symphony closes the program.
