As one gets older, unexpected falls can cause a whole lot of impacts. Such was the case during the early 2000’s when James Levine was injured several times. Now he has recovered, and we get to enjoy more of this amazing musician’s concerts and recordings.
Recorded live on May 19, 2013, this concert marked maestro James Levine’s return to the stage after a two-year absence due to injury. His entrance on the stage of Carnegie Hall was greeted with a standing ovation, which led into a concert that met with near universal audience and critical praise.
The guest artist for this concert was pianist Evgeny Kissin, a frequent collaborator with Levine and also a celebrated performer around the globe whose previous recordings have earned many awards.
