Carol’s Concerto Collection
I have listened to the performances of Carol Rosenberger for many years. On occasion I wonder why she has not become more well-known. It seems as though some artists make that choice…
On this CD we get to hear the following selections:
- Noches en los jardines de Espana
Hanson, H:
- Fantasy Variations on a Theme of Youth, for piano and strings
- Piano Concerto, Op. 36
Haydn:
- Keyboard Concerto No. 2 in D major, Hob.XVIII:2
- Keyboard Concerto No. 4 in G major, Hob.XVIII:4
Strauss, R:
- Burleske for Piano and orchestra in D minor, AV85
Performed by. Carol Rosenberger (piano), with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Seattle Symphony Orchestra, Gerard Schwarz conducting.
As Carol explains it, “Each concerto recording in this collection originally appeared as the solo turn on a symphonic album conducted by Gerard Schwarz. Jerry and I both relished the chance to present piano and orchestra repertoire that was ‘right’ for the symphonic program and in some cases underserved on recording.”
