I recall observing Shai Wosner as he participated in a master class conducted by Daniel Barenboim. I felt then that we will hear more from him.
On this CD, Shai Wosner plays music by Haydn and Ligeti:
Haydn:
Capriccio ‘Acht Sauschneider müssen seyn’ in G major, Hob.XVII/1
Fantasia (Capriccio) in C major, Hob. XVII:4
Keyboard Concerto No. 4 in G major, With the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Nicholas Collon conducting.
Keyboard Concerto No. 11 in D major, With the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Nicholas Collon conducting.
Ligeti:
Piano Concerto, with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Nicholas Collon conducting.
Due Capricci
Shai Wosner has established himself as one of today’s leading Schubert interpreters. He is also equally at home in Classical, Romantic and Contemporary repertoire, often in unusual combinations which are both thought provoking: Brahms and Schoenberg for example, or delightfully quirky, as on his new recording.
Here is Mr. Wosner performing the Haydn concerto in G-major:
