Philadelphia Orchestra performs Bernstein, Mozart, and Schumann
Even while conducting “The Flying Dutchman” at the Met, Yannick Nézet-Séguin still makes time for his orchestra’s third and final Carnegie Hall performance of the season.
The program features works that in their own way are as storm-tossed as Wagner’s opera:
Bernstein’s Symphony No. 1 (“Jeremiah”), featuring the excellent mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke;
Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24 in C Minor, with the amazing soloist Radu Lupu; and
Schumann’s Second Symphony.
