As I recall, the story goes like this: A female pianist from England came to perform in Salzburg, and Mozart was smitten by her. And Mozart was inspired to composed a piano concerto for her. It became the Piano concert number 9, and carries the title “Jeunhomme”.
I did some research and learned that Mozart was 21 years old at the time. And the woman was actually French, not British. And finally, her name was Victoire Jenamy.
Well, I actually care mostly about the music and the perfomer. David Fray is one of the great pianists of our time. Expressive, sensitive, and accurate. Here he is in this amazing concerto:
