Lacrimosa Means Weeping…

At the end of his short life, in 1791, Mozart composed his Requiem. He died before it was completed, and one of his students adapted Mozart’s sketches and untimately completed this work of genius.

For me, one of the most amazing sections of this Requiem is the so-called “Lacrimosa”. In Latin this is the word for weeping.

The music is one of the saddest creations of all time, and one that brings about huge emotions for me.
