On this brand new recording, American pianist Orli Shaham shows us the theatrical richness and invention of Mozart’s Piano Concertos. She is joined by David Robertson conducting the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra for the Orchestra’s first studio recording in over 15 years.
Concertos No. 17 in G Major K.453 and the No. 24 in C. Minor K.491 are examples of the extraordinary theatricality of Mozart’s mature concertos. Each concludes with a movement cast in variation form, the only such examples in Mozart’s piano concertos.
