We are introducing this quartet today because they recently won First Prize at the Nielsen Chamber Music competition.
Member names are as follows:
- Danfeng Shen (violin) and Antonia Rankensberger (violin);
- Xiang Lyu (viola), and cellist Ivan Valentin Hollup Ruald.
I heard them play the slow movement of a well-known work by Franz Schubert, and I was very impressed. These are 4 young people who have grasped the deep feeling so often associated with Schubert’s music.
