I have listened to this music many many times. And I am very unhappy when I do not hear it played in an adequately Legato manner. Often the short note in the melody is chopped off which, for me, interferes with the “moonlight” effect.
Today I heard it played on the radio by our San Francisco radio station. I waited until the end, and the announce said that the performer was Evgeny Kissin.
