Violinist Nikolaj Znaider graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Music studying under Milan Vitek and from the Vienna Conservatory studying under Boris Kuschnir.
He became well-known after his victory in the Queen Elisabeth Music Competition in Brussels (1997). He is one of the most sought-after violinists in the world, and he also performs with leading orchestras as both soloist and conductor.
He is Principal Guest Conductor of the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra. He is founder of the Nordic Music Academy, an annual summer school for young artists.
