This morning I listened some more to music provided by the Digital site of the Berlin Philharmonic. They have a treasure chest of past concerts that they made available to the public during the “Shelter in Place”.
I heard pianist Daniil Trifonov perform the amazing music of Schumann and Rachmaninov.
Trifonov was born in Nizhniy Novgorod in 1991, and he has emerged as one of the most talked-about young musicians in the world. His reputation for outstanding performances, musical insight and expressive performances has already surpassed the attention he received during the 2010-2011 season when he won medals at the Chopin Competition in Warsaw (Third Prize), the Rubinstein Competition in Tel Aviv (First Prize) and the Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow.
