I first heard María Dueñas recently in a video, and she looked far more mature and experienced than her 17 years.
What I heard during the next few minutes was spectacular virtuosity, electrifying drive, and sensitive phrasing. It was a powerful, mature performance, one that grabbed your attention and never let go. She played a section of the Brahms Violin Sonata #3. I really loved it because of the passion that she brought to the music.
