Christian Ferras was born at Le Touquet, France in 1933. He began studying the violin with his father.
In 1948 Ferras won First Prize at the international Scheveningen Festival; Yehudi Menuhin was among the judges.
He premiered Arthur Honegger’s Sonata for Solo Violin in the Salle Gaveau on 16 November 1948.
Mr. Ferras died in 1982 in Paris.
