I heard Mr. Leong perform the music of Fritz Kreisler for the first time today, Sunday, June 13, 2021. I was impressed with his terrific playing. He is 23 years old, and he seems ready to become much better known very soon!
An Associated Artist at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Belgium, where he was mentored by Augustin Dumay, Kerson is a former Junior 1st prize winner at the Menuhin Competition.
He was also awarded the prestigious Grand Prize at the Canadian Stepping Stone Competition, the Grand Prize at the Canadian Music Competition for five consecutive years and the Radios Francophones Publiques Young Soloist Prize.
Mr. Leong’s recent debuts include solo engagements with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Sibelius Academy Chamber Orchestra, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, Kansai Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Gulbenkian Orchestra and the Stockton Symphony Orchestra.
Kerson Leong currently performs on the “ex Bohrer” Guarneri del Gesu violin on generous loan from Canimex Inc.
