I travelled once long ago, from San Francisco to New York for one purpose: Violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter was performing in three concerts at Carnegie Hall!
Yes… it definitely was a memorable experience.
Ms. Mutter began studying the violin at an early age; I heard her mention at an interview that as a child she was very impressed with the playing of violinist David Oistrakh.
