How about some Jazz?
Early this morning I listened to singer Kiri Te Kanawa, as she performed with one great musician, Andre Previn. I know Ms. Te Kanawa mostly from her Opera career, and from her amazing performances under the direction of conductor Georg Solti. This morning, however, I enjoyed her so much singing in a different style!
Andre Previn was born in Berlin, and for a significant period of his life he was a Jazz musician. Later on he started to conduct classical music, and also became a composer.
There are times when a certain “chemistry” emerges between performers; and then we, the listeners, are so much richer for it. This – for me — is the case with Kiri and Andre.
