Fritz Kreisler: Violin Music
Fritz Kreisler was a legendary violinist and composer during his own lifetime. His specialty became the adaptations and arrangements that he wrote based on earlier composers’ music.
In this collection, we hear many of his pieces, which later became vignettes that violinists presented as encores at the end of concerts. Still, a unique, light, and song-like style was required to present these compositions. And even some of the major violinists of the day, studied this style with Kreisler personally.

Jack Liebeck plays this music beautifully. His style is more reserved when it comes to the noticeable slides and ‘swoops’ between notes, which became such a hallmark of Fritz Kreisler’s own playing.
