Pahud plays Mozart!
When a musician shows us constantly his/her great artistry, musicality, and unbelievable phrasing, it is fitting to publish some comments on a set of interpretations that were recorded years ago. While this recording goes back many years, it was re – mastered by EMI and it is worthwhile to mention it here.
Emanuel Pahud is one wonderful artist! It seems like the music melodies simply pour out of his soul…
On this CD we hear the Mozart Flute Concerti numbers 1 and 2; we also get the famous concerto for Flute and Harp. There are works that are very well known, but worth hearing again, as done by an amazing artist.
Pahud was born in Geneva in January 1970 and started to study music at the age of six. He graduated in 1990 with the Premier Prix from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, after which he continued his studies with Aurele Nicolet.
At the age of 22, Emmanuel Pahud was appointed Principal Flute of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra under Claudio Abbado, a post to which he returned in 2002 after an 18-month sabbatical when he taught the Virtuosity Class at the Geneva Conservatoire.
