Netrebko’s Passion!
Anna Netrebko was born in Krasnodar, in Russia, in 1971. She received her vocal training at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, where she appeared as Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro and Violetta in La Traviata. In 1993 she was first-prize winner of the Glinka Vocal Competition in Moscow, and she joined the ensemble of the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, to which she still belongs.

Netrebko is one of the world’s superstar Sopranos who has endeared herself to her audiences, and draws large crowds wherever she appears. Time Magazine Named Netrebko One of the 100 Most Influential People of 2006. Vogue Raved that She Has “…the Century’s Most Spectacular Voice. She won the 2007 classical British award for “Singer of the Year” and the 2006 German Bambi Award for Classical Music.

Ms. Netrebko has a beautiful voice, and also the ability to meld her own voice with other singers who are joining her in a performance. She expresses herself in a most musical way, with fine phrasing and excellent adherence to dynamics. While some of the above arias are very well known, it is nevertheless exciting to hear what an artist of Ms. Netrebko’s caliber can do with them to create excitement for the public.
