Prokofiev’s Flute Sonata
This CD features the following sonatas for flute and piano:
• Gabriel Pierne’: Sonata Op. 36
• Niels Gade: Sonata Number 2, Op. 21
• Sergei Prokofiev: Sonata number 2, Op. 94
I listened to the Prokofiev Flute sonata again this morning, and I enjoyed it a lot. It is typical Prokofiev, in the way that he weaves and varies his melodies. And the lovely flute sonatas by Pierne’ and Gade are also included in this recording.
The tracks on this CD are as follows:
1. Flute Sonata, Op. 36: I. Allegretto
2. Flute Sonata, Op. 36: II. Allegretto tranquillo
