Lilya Zilberstein
Here is yet another example of the wonderful fact that amazing musicians continue to emerge: Lilya Zilberstein is a real “poet of the piano”. What terrific warmth and feeling penetrate all of her music. In my view, she’s an outstanding artist. Certainly the Russian composers receive a terrific interpretation from her excellent pianistic skills.
On this CD we get two major selections: The Rachmaninoff Preludes Op. 32, and also the Piano Sonata number 1 by Dmitry Shostakovich
Ms. Zilberstein was born in Moscow on April 19, 1965 and she was educated at the Gnessin State Musical College (1971-88). She rose to prominence after winning the 1987 Concorso Busoni in Italy, and as a result she immediately gave extensive concerts there. Now we are getting more of her recordings, as well.
Release Date for this CD: August 17, 2010
